We are 29k, a non-profit organisation, funded by private and public donors. There are no fees and no ads in our app, and we do not sell user data to any 3rd parties. We are based in Stockholm Sweden, and you can reach us at privacy@29k.org.
Purpose
This app helps you grow and make the most out of life. It includes courses, exercises and sharing groups, all based on the latest psychology research. We use your data for the following purposes:
- To give you the basic service of the app
- To contribute back to the science and research
- To improve the app and troubleshoot technical issues
The app needs to process your data, such as your approximate age, which exercises you have done and which you still haven’t, which sharing groups you are a member of etc., in order to work. Without storing this data, we wouldn’t be able to provide you with meaningful app experience. We also store additional data if you want us to, such as your profile picture, your personal notes and similar, that you are in complete control of.
We get free resources from the scientific community, and contribute back to the science and research by providing anonymised data from our users. We don’t share any identifiable information with 3rd parties, and we never share data for profit.
If you give us consent, we will also analyse your app usage data not only in order to provide you with the basic service of the app, but also to improve the app for you and other users, and help more people grow (see details below).
Your Consent
Some of the data that the Aware app stores about you is considered as personal (e.g. your email or name), and some as sensitive data (e.g. that you are using the app and which sessions you have taken). Because of this, processing of data in the app is considered health data and as such, your consent to the processing is required. Unfortunately, we cannot provide the service without processing this data. You can withdraw your consent for us to store and process your data at any time, by deleting your account.
Some of the data that the 29k app stores about you is classified as personal (e.g. your email or year of birth), and some as special category/sensitive data (e.g. which courses you have taken). Therefore, we need your consent to process and store any of this data.
In order to use the app, you have to give us consent to store and/or process the required data. You can withdraw your consent for us to store and process your data at any time, by deleting your account.
In order to use the app, you have to give us consent to anonymise your data and use the anonymised data for research purposes (see details below). Once anonymised, the data can, by definition, no longer be linked to you.
By separate consent, you decide if you want to let us analyse your app usage data not only in order to provide you with the basic service of the app, but also to improve the app for you and other users (see details below). You can withdraw your consent at any time in your profile.
